History:

• Pastun tribes were unified by Ahmad Shah and Afghanistan was founded on 1717 by him.
• Afghanistan got independence from British control in 1919.
• Soviet Union invaded to support Afghanistan communist regime in 1979.
• USSR withdrew in 1989 by the pressure of anti-communist Mujahedin rebels.
• After many wars Kabul fall to Taliban in 1996.
• In December 2004 Hamid Karzai became the first democratic president of Afghanistan.
• Karzai was re-elected as president of Afghanistan in November 2009 for the second term.
